This <strong>State Secretariat<\/strong> acts with complete <strong>transparency in public administration<\/strong> to ensure an academic standard of excellence in <strong>nationwide<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Unlike the <strong>cantonal school-leaving certificate<\/strong> managed by <strong>the cantons<\/strong> where each <strong>canton<\/strong> has a programme <strong>cantonal<\/strong> Specifically, it is this national body that officially issues the <strong>school-leaving certificate<\/strong> (or <strong>school leaving certificate<\/strong>) for independent candidates or those from a <strong>sixth-form college<\/strong> private.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"les-missions-pour-les-examens-de-maturite\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Assignments for the A-level exams<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To ensure that the <strong>secondary education<\/strong> retain their value and guarantee a <strong>direct access<\/strong> to the sectors <strong>universities in Switzerland<\/strong>, the State delegates the <strong>the Swiss Commission\u2019s responsibility<\/strong> of maturity (<strong>CSM<\/strong>) to take action at three distinct levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"1-lelaboration-du-programme-et-des-directives\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. Drawing up the programme and guidelines<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A <strong>order<\/strong> the law stipulates <strong>the disciplines<\/strong> which the candidate must master in order to develop a strong <strong>general knowledge<\/strong>. The <strong>incumbent<\/strong> of a <strong>vocational baccalaureate<\/strong> or a <strong>specialised baccalaureate<\/strong> who would like to take a <strong>supplementary bridging examination<\/strong> (or some <strong>further tests<\/strong>) must also comply with this. The programme requires students to master:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The basics: Mother tongue, foreign languages, mathematics.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A <strong>specific option<\/strong> and a <strong>additional option<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Writing a <strong>personal research project<\/strong> (the famous <strong>school-leaving project<\/strong>) for <strong>certify<\/strong> of his critical thinking.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"2-lorganisation-centralisee-de-chaque-session\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. The centralised organisation of each session<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">L\u2019<strong>registration<\/strong> and planning fall within the remit of the <strong>Swiss Maturit\u00e9 Commission<\/strong>. <strong>Exams<\/strong> are organised in the <strong>three language regions<\/strong> in the country. The majority of <strong>candidates<\/strong> choose to break down the exam into <strong>two mid-terms<\/strong>, assessing the <strong>three pillars<\/strong> core elements of the course. The assessment is based on a <strong>coefficient<\/strong> thorough by subject.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"3-ladmission-aux-universites-et-ecoles-polytechniques\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. Admission to universities and polytechnics<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This state recognition enables a <strong>admission<\/strong> <strong>without an exam<\/strong> additional to the <strong>universities<\/strong> (such as <strong>universities<\/strong> (classics), to the <strong>Federal Institutes of Technology<\/strong> (EPFL, ETHZ), but also to the <strong>universities of applied sciences<\/strong> (<strong>HES<\/strong>) and to the <strong>teacher training colleges<\/strong>.
