Why a Swiss school leaving certificate?

 

The Swiss Matriculation Certificate is the only qualification that guarantees access to higher education pathways in Switzerland: University, EPFL, School of Fine Arts, HES, HEG.
A degree that is recognised worldwide!

Why choose the Swiss Matura rather than following the traditional route of grammar school? There are several reasons why the Swiss Matura might be a better fit for your needs than the traditional grammar school route.

Perhaps you have embarked on a professional career that does not meet your current expectations?

Or perhaps you are one of those young people who did not follow the grammar school route but are now considering university studies?

In addition, the pace of study is more flexible than at secondary school, making it more adaptable to sports-study schedules or for students with health issues.

The good news is that this change of direction is made possible by the Swiss Federal Maturity Certificate, which opens the doors to all Swiss universities, including EPFL, with no further conditions!

Prerequisites

Students must be at least 18 years old in the year they sit the second partial examination or the full examination.

Examination procedures

The examination consists of written and oral tests. The test procedures are specific to each subject. For further details, please consult the guidelines.

  • Represents the focus of your A-levels. This is an in-depth course. Generally, by choosing this option, you are already deciding on your future studies. This option is chosen from the following subjects:

The supplementary option (SO)

Professional ice hockey player Michael Ngoy began his sporting career in 2001 with the Lausanne Hockey Club. After four seasons with the Vaud-based club, he joined Fribourg Gottéron in 2005 and then, in 2016, moved to the Ticino club Ambri Piotta. He has now played more than 1,000 professional matches. Keen to manage his post-sporting career as effectively as possible, Michael Ngoy enrolled at the University of Lausanne in 2003, where he studied psychology. However, the difficulties of balancing his sporting career with his studies soon forced him to put his studies on hold. In 2014, he began studying for a federal certificate in technical management. With the help of the training centre's managers, he managed to set up an innovative formula that allowed him to take some of his courses remotely. Thanks to this unique arrangement, he obtained his diploma in 2017 and, building on this experience, created Ngoy Connected Academy two years later. The distance learning centre meets the need to balance a main activity (job, sporting career, etc.) with a professional career.

With a Master's degree in business economics, a secondary school teaching qualification and a federal diploma in training management, Stéphane devoted himself to teaching in the professional sphere before taking over as director of the Centre de Perfectionnement Interprofessionnel in the canton of Fribourg in 2003, a position he held until 2017. In 2016, he founded Hibernatus, where he is currently responsible for development, and continues his career as a trainer, popularising finance and economics.
